Virginia Tech QB Ethan Grunkemeyer
[10.12.2026]
Former Olentangy star QB Ethan Grunkemeyer followed Coach Franklin to Blackburg, Virginia leaving Happy Valley (PSU) in his rearview mirror. Hokies started the 2026 campaign 4-0 before back to back losses to Pitt and Cal, Va Tech host Georgia Tech as the squad looks to rebound! Ethan's number thru game six 152 for 208 passing with 12 touchdowns and 2 picks averaging 289 yards through the air.
Hokies get off to a quick start in every game leading at the half, unfortunately both losses Va. Tech struggled to score in the second half of Pitt (9) and at Call (6). Look for the Hokies to take some pressure off Grunk and get the ground game cracked up. Second half adjustments separate average from elite teams Hokies must find some balance as the remaining schedule is a gauntlet:
10.17 - Georgia Tech [3:30pm est]
10.24 - @ Clemson [7:00pm est]
11.6 - @ SMU [7:00pm est]
11.14 - Stanford [TBD]
11.21 - @ Miami [TBD]
11.28 - Virginia [TBD]
12.5 - ACC Championship [noon est / Charlotte, NC]
On Tap - TE Gavin Grover [UC]
Former Olentangy great has made huge strides as a Bearcat!
On Deck - Levi Davis [OU]
Former Orange Mr. Football candidate progress as a Bobcat!
